Coastal Home

A house on the South East coast was transformed to provide a modern holiday home.

The brief was to create a timeless interior, with a palette echoing the tones of sand, sea and driftwood. The main kitchen is an in-frame Ovolo Shaker, finished in a bespoke beige colour with a white marble worktop. Industrial-style glass doors lead to a walk-in pantry finished in Carbon, complete with wine fridges and a warm timber worktop. A Sub-Zero refrigerator and a traditional Aga anchor the scheme with elegant practicality.

Beyond the kitchen, the supporting spaces have their own character. The laundry room, finished in Dry Rose, brings soft colour and calm functionality, while the boot room in Lava green offers a practical threshold between outdoors and in. Together, these spaces extend the palette of the main kitchen, creating a layered, harmonious interior that feels effortlessly at home by the sea.

“Coastal style can easily drift into pastiche. I kept the colours neutral, added Lava and Dry Rose in the service rooms, and let the materials do the work. It’s a family home first and foremost.”
